Pula the Dog needs a home

Pula is a super sweet girl once she is comfortable with you. Treats are the way to her heart, and with some time and treats she will be your best friend. Pula is shy and fearful with people, especially strangers. She takes time to warm up to new people and will need someone who will continue to work on her " stranger danger" once she is in a home.Pula was born in January 2016. She is reactive to cars, people and dogs, both on walks and in her yard. At 70 pounds, she is a strong girl who will lunge at cars, people and other dogs. She does love her walks, but they can be challenging, because it is hard to get her focus back once she gets over threshold. She needs someone who is willing to continue working on her reactivity.Pula is currently on prescription medication for allergies. She has hair loss on her ears and around her eyes, and she is very itchy. Best Friends vets are working to pinpoint the cause of this. Pula has done well with all the dogs she's met at the Sanctuary. She is working on training during her walks to reduce her reactivity and on being more comfortable meeting new people. Once she opens up to you, Pula loves to play and be a goofy girl.
